Adrduino to Sciphone i9+++

Hi all, I have a Sciphone i9+++ (cheap iphone clone) that I would like to talk with my arduino and am wondering the best method to go about it.

Could I just get a USB host shield and connect the phones cable
or I have the pinout for the phones usb cable can I go straight to the arduino.

I know when the usb is plugged into the pc I can use the camera as a web cam and access the micro sd and various other things. I would like to try use it to send sms and maybe use the webcam.

Would appreciate any advice.

  1. Ground
  2. Left earphone
  3. Right earphone
  4. TxD (COM)
  5. RxD (COM)
  6. MIC
  7. FM Antanne
  8. USB data -
  9. USB data +
  10. +5v
  11. Power on
  12. +VCC

The host shield sounds like a winner.

It may save some coding if the phone has bluetooth
