Adruino Uno with Stepper motors power supley

Hi guys ,

I am trying to build a pen plotter , or better said a Cnc (after upgrading it ), its my first project with Adruino , i googled for a long time but i think the best way to get a good advice in in the -+ Forum

he is my set :
I bought an Adruino Uno R3 here the link, https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B06XHC8D16/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
with A4988 Stepper Motor Driver

and a 3 stepper Motors nema 17 , link ,https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B015ST2U5A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

my question in : what is the best and safe way to power them all , i mean the adrruino Uno and the 3 Nema 17? iis 12 Vold and 2 Amps ok or what do you think guys !
Plz help me , i don´t wand start my project fals

Those motors may overload the A4988 - but you might get away with it. Each motor requires about 2 * 1.5 * 2.3 = 7 watts. So 3 motors will require about 21 watts. A 12v 2amp power supply can only provide about 24 watts so I suspect it is marginal. But the web page also mentions 1.3 amps (rather than 1.5) and I have no idea which is correct. Make sure you have a large capacitor on the output from the power supply to help average out the demands from the motors.

The motors will perform better (faster) with an even higher voltage - 24v, for example.

Whether using 12v or 24v make sure you set the current limit correctly on the A4988s or you risk damaging your motors.

I think I would give the Arduino its own power supply just in case the fluctuations caused by the motors affect it.

what about thise one https://www.amazon.de/3D-Drucker-Schaltnetzteil-allgemeinhin-regulierte-3D-Druck-Teile/dp/B01DPGV22K/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1499547776&sr=1-1&keywords=netzteil+3d+drucker

That certainly has enough amps
