Advice for a muti display.

Hello all.

I am after some help and advice about the best way to wire up muti display items with least amount of pins. What am after is 2 4 digit seven segment displays with 1 16x4 LCD (or GLCD of similar size) and about 10 single LED's for use as a digital dashboard. What is all your opinions please on different ways to control this?

The MAX7219 can uses three pins and can handle all 8 7-segment dsplays: MAX7219CNG LED Matrix/Digit Display Driver [MAX7219] : ID 453 : $12.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits

A pair of 8-bit shift registers can handle the 10 LEDs and can use the same three output pins.

You can get LCD's with I2C interfaces. They use only two pins (A4 and A5).
