Advice/ Input

Hi I am a Senior in high school and I am looking for any input or advice from anyone who has experience. For my senior project I intend on programming and putting together an Arduino smart watch. With bluetooth capabilities this watch will be able to show time, vibrate when your phone has notifications, and it will also show your phone's battery percentage along with the watch's battery percentage. Any comments or concerns are important, thankyou!

I will deny your device access to my phone.
What then?

It seems to me that that project requires more expertise with Android (or Apple) systems than with the Arduino.

I think you will need a program running on the phone to detect the various things and then send suitable messages to the Arduino.

If you want to build a smart watch, using an Arduino, that's possible of course. You only should be prepared to get a wall clock instead of a wristwatch, if you use commonly available hardware components.
