Advice inquiry

So I'm just a newbie to all of this. What would you guys recommend that I learn to get into making stuff similar to GLaDOS (from portal), Ghost (from Destiny) and Alexa (Amazon device)?
I would like to make something for myself that will give me some nostalgia and the comfort of having an A.I. that can help me with day to day stuff. I seriously lack in the 'motivation' dept on most days. I loved the different A.I. concepts projected from games and stuff.

Apologies, I was referred to the website and I tried navigating through the different forums. Not sure where I could place this inquiry.

Inquiry== Question
...the Project Guidance might be a starting point, probably better than Programming Questions

Oh and there will be cake.

Oh and GLADOS has been done to death so it should be easy for you to pick up tips and such.

Just slip arduino before the game name in google and chances are somebody already did it one for you to adapt.

GLaDOS and Ghost are fictional.
Alexa does not process voice commands on the local hardware that is done in the Cloud.

Since you are saying you want the AI to help you with day to day stuff that implies that the AI is actually real.
You cannot impliment an AI on an Arduino. You could do very limited AI on a PC but it really is not going to be able to help you except in very limited ways.

I suggest you read up on AI and the hardware used then set some realistic goals.
