Advices on creating a arduino live radio

Hi guys,

I am interested in doing a live radio for my arduino. I have the following available : Arduino Uno / Ethernet Shield and a lcd display. Any advices on where to start looking? Appreciate.

Hi.

Maybe something like this:

Are you talking about a radio frequency transmitter, or an Internet radio station?

Err... probably an internet radio station? whereby i can play the radio with my arduino through the speaker.

In that case probbly not without extra hardware. You will need at least some sort of chip that can decode MP3 data as the Arduino is not up to that task. There may be other needs like external ram to act as a buffer as well.
You are better off using an Arduino Yun or Raspberry Pi for this.

Hmm, sorry just want to clarify / confirm, what i was told is that i can take the radio from the internet and play it through my speaker connected to the arduino ( with an ethernet shield on top ). Is it possible?

Not as far as I know with a Uno.
Ask who ever told you for more information.

Thanks for your time. My friend and i was thinking that since it was possible to get information from the internet, we thought it was possible to get the radio and play it out through speaker.
