Air Conditioner drain water

Hi All,

I'm new here.

Basically I have an AC installed in a room that doesn't have access to a drainage system outside and couldn't just leave the water dripping onto my neighbors yard. Therefore I had done a small shelve just outside the window and put a 10L water container on it so that it will drain into it.

Last year I've done a small arduino project that uses the humidity sensor. I've attached the sensor near the top of the container and once it detects water a buzzer will beep so that I am aware and manually empty it.

I would like to enhance this and pump the water up to the roof automatically once it's full. What is the best way to do this? As in what type of pump would I need to use? It doesnt have to be powerful. I would guess that I can use the same logic and instead of beeping it would start the pump for x amount of seconds.

Any suggestions?

No need for Arduino at all.

Link!

The roof is the last place you want to be pumping the condensate water from an rac.

It'll corrode the hell out of any roofing iron and downpipes within cooee.

One of the rating for a pump is. Head pressure
This is how high up you can pump.
Get twice the height you need.
Over time tthe flow will decrease

if you run your pump to any drain
it could be a pipe down to your garden
it could be to the rain gutter
it could be to the roof drain on a flat roof
it could be to your sink drain like a dishwasher

condensed water is very pure. it is distilled water, plus dust and any materials that are in contact such as lint and smoke.
if the coil of the air conditioner is copper, there will be traces of copper.

as was noted the presense of water over a long period has effects to the things it is in contact with.
on a roof, the water drop can act like magnifying lenses and over time case damage to the roof.
water on stainless will eventually interact, it is not stain-proof, it is stain-less, less than regular steel.

Condensate pump. As noted, no Arduino needed.

It may be pure first off but when it mixes with carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxides from the atmosphere, it becomes acidic.

Any more so than rainwater?

Are you confusing the condensate from a condensing gas boiler(which can be quite acidic) with that which comes off an air conditioner coils?

Couple of example of many.
Ask any air con tech and they will tell you the same thing.

It does need to be powerful. Lifiting water takes a lot of energy. How high will you need to lift it?
