All or nothing failure while tunning arduino sensors LM393 chip!

Hi,

I’m having difficulties when it comes to sensors. I have two sensors, one microphone and an high sensitive vibrations sensor.

The problem started when I got reading in the analog port as almost 0 or 1023, and nothing in between. I check in my oscilloscope and the reading of the analog output in these sensors is 5v or 0v. And when tested, in the case of the vibration one, it switches from zero to 5 volts and stays there, is like the only thing that vibration does is switch the permanent voltage.

In the case of the microphone things are also strange. While I regulate with the little screw, I can’t make the mic work properly, I never see any wav typical in microphones. What I see is some kind of equilibrium while tuning where I’m able to pick up a frequency around 3MHz as shown in the following pictures:


Any ideas how to make sensors work properly?

That sensor circuit uses the comparator LM393. It wil give 0v or 5v, so use a digital pin rather than expecting an analog signal 0-1023

However, you should not be getting oscillation.
