Alphabot Task with two sensors

I have a task in Arduino to program alpahabot and sadly I am struggling with it so I was wondering if I could get some help.

TASK:Alphabot is going forward,when he comes to an obstacle,he detects it with one of his two sensors.When he detects it he waites for 5 seconds and then if the obstacle is detected with left sensor he goes a bit backwards and then to the right and if it detected with right sensor he goes a bit backwards and then to the left

When is our assignment due to be handed in ?

I basically know to name my variables and that's it and about deadline probably week or two
