Alternative wifi on MKR wifi 1010

Has anyone used an alternative on an Arduino MKR wifi 1010 to connect to a wifi network?

I know it sounds odd, but I have not been able to connect (or even see) networks with the built-in ublox module (despite using a variety of firmware, different IDEs, etc.)

I want to make the MKR a web server to show active power from an mbus source.

Anyone got an example (e.g. ESP8266 Esp-01?)

Your question is unclear.

Start over, work through the getting started guide and let us know what problems you encounter.

It's clear to me the person has issues with the built in wifi module and is asking if there are alternative options

i have also found the wifi module un relaible and temperamental especially when the mkr 1010 is parallel to a desk with a ceiling mounted Access point.

I can Imagine the aerial is have issues

Hi. Thanks for the replies. I worked through multiple examples, with no luck.

Then, I added a LiPo battery and - it worked! This was the same on both my MKR wifi boards; no connectivity without a battery connected.

Very weird and I would not have expected this behaviour.
