Hi I made my own ambilight setup last week, using ws2812b 30 LEDs per meter running 130 LEDs, I'm using Arduino Uno with FastLED sketch. I have a 5v 10a PSU. I have the 470 ohm resistor on the data line and a 10v 1000uf capacitor on the 5v output. When it went off yesterday I went back to the start resoldered everything tested everything. One thing I did notice is the voltage from the PSU is 5.4v could this have any I'll effect? I'm powering the Arduino using the usb cable that's drawing the data from Android ambilight application, could this be an issue. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you. Also when plugged in the Arduino is showing a solid red light on L LED all the time. Not sure if this is a factor.

It could do it is very close to the limit.
Try running a standard WS2812 example from one of the libraries, to see if your strip is still intact.
and a 10v 1000uf capacitor on the 5v output.
