Ammeter readings

I once connected an Arduino nano to an ammeter in the 200mA setting and got a 5.1 idle and with no code or measurements.

I thought it was 51 mA.

Today I connected just an Esp8266 to an ammeter in the 200mA and got 0.7 idle. According to an article I found online it should draw about 65 mA idle.

So I'm confused, what is 0.7 on a 200 mA setting?

Check you meter with a known resistor (at a known voltage).

You've connected the multimeter lead to the 10A jack, which won't work for the 200mA range, only
for the 10A range.
