After the initial installation within the IDE I see the following error "An unexpected error occurred when locating the Git executable".
The laptop has unrestricted access to the internet, windows Firewall rules were added as part of the installation process for the IDE. There is no option to read more information, just a cross to close the prompt.
There is an advanced Git integration feature in Arduino IDE 2.x. This feature does require Git, but it is completely optional. If you don't have Git installed, then you would have no use for it anyway. So please ignore this error message. It will not impact any other functionality of the IDE.
This error message is certainly not the right user experience, so it must be fixed in a future release of the Arduino IDE 2.x.
