Well, i guess this is the bump you were considering..
Destructables is the worst reference you can get, as a matter of fact it is not nearly a reference at all because of the lack of any useful information on why something should or should not work.
And the policy to forbid anything but positive comments to the items on that site.
1st. thing i thought of reading your posts in this thread was the relatively high resistances you are using, and the known effects that will have, but that has been pointed out.
So did you already try your luck with some lower value resistors, and how did that work for you ?
I think trying that will teach you something, and will be fun to do.
Lower resistances will also reduce noise pick up, and using as short as possible wires will do so too.
