I realize that there are many Linux users who are left out because of how I decided to build this. I am comfortable using Linux, but have never done any programming on a Linux system. I will add your suggestion as a feature request to the project website at http://rhyduino.codeplex.com. This will give users a chance to vote on the feature, and if the demand seems higher than other features, I will be more than happy to create a parallel version with Mono.
I have been hoping to get all testing of Rhyduino v1 done by the end of this month, but that's not looking good. I might need a few more weeks. It's at that point that I'll start finalizing plans for the future releases. Of course, if someone with Mono programming experience wanted to start porting this, I would be happy to work very closely with them to make it happen. I imagine that all the unit tests I'm creating would work when running against a Mono version as well, so it might not be a terribly difficult task.
Whether or not it leads to a Mono version, thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate the feedback.
