another beginner motor question.

I took out a motor from a disc drive. The motor is attached to a small circuit board which in one area has 4 pins and in another area has 15 flat pins where a ribbon used to connect to it.

Is this a brushless motor?

Any idea what the pins might be for?

I also noticed that if I supply power and ground to pins 1 and 2 or 1 and 3 of the 15 flat pins, the motor moves a fraction of a rotation.

I'd like to be able to control this motor and imagine I need an esc, but I am unsure how I would go about connecting the esc to this motor since I am confused by what kind of motor it is (although I'm pretty sure its brushless) and because I am not sure what the pins do.

Any suggestions on understanding how this motor works and how to run it with an esc?

I'm 90% sure that it is an steppermotor : Stepper motor - Wikipedia
