Hi,
I noted several older Chrono related discussions/questions. I am new and soft on electronics. After several attempts I could get a sensing circuit working with 1) "normal IR LED's" and 2) with BWP34's. My conclusion so far is that optically these devices are not sensitive enough to do the job, hence I would need to go another direction in using the IR LED types with the small lens. That leads to more problems as one would then need to get involved with lenses etc and I noted that the industrial/professional products all have these type IR Sensors with some for of a lense and the white reflectors at the top. IR light sources at the top is also a white reflector in function I think.
From there, I then think it would be best to use standards sensors that can be bought. The CED Sensor Rev 2 looks like a good working system with outputs I can use. (Or so I think).
From these a couple of questions then and I hope somebody touched or worked with this and can assist me.
a) Was is the pin-out. I have a system but do not want to take chances and I tried measureing but...lol..let me leave that. I assume outside of the pin is ground, centre +V and maybe signal. So I do not trust my measurement and/or results.
b) I read somewhere about a 1us pulse? If that is true, I can put this into a JK and measure the pulse width to get velocity I think and hope.
c) So, did anybody tried this before and what are the signals and connection like?
I assume my limited resources are part of the problem, assistance from experience would be appreciated.
