another newbie question

Hi,
here's the thing:

-I plug the arduino in the usb port
-green led lights up

  • yellow led starts blinking
  • I try a modified version of the led blink example (unsing 300 for the dealy value)
  • I reset the board
  • I upload the program
    -I get this :

Binary sketch size: 5472 bytes (of a 7168 byte maximum)

Atmel AVR ATmega8 is found.
Uploading: flash
Firmware Version: 1.18
Firmware Version: 1.18

-yellow led still blinks at the same speed...

why ?

please forget the 2 previous post...

RTFM RTFM is the key...

i think the yellow light you are talking about is the tx and rx lights on the arduino board, those just go on when the computer and arduino and computer are talking to each other. the green light should of went on at different times then before.
