Any RF charging solutions out there?

I'm working on an IOT project with extreme size restraints—15mm cubed—and I would like to add wireless charging. I looked into inductive charging but unfortunately with the size restraints and positioning / alignment issues it's looking problematic. I ordered some parts and will be testing further but would like to explore other options.

Anyway, long introduction, but what about RF charging? All I could find after some googling is this. It doesn't look like they have any chips, let alone boards, publicly available. Are there any other options? Anyone have any experience with RF charging?

The project would need a suitable antenna, and overall, RF seems very impractical.

Charging should be investigated only after you have completely exhausted all possible avenues for very lowest power operation.

And an RF band that allowed transmissions at fairly high power.

RF power transmission is usually very inefficient with the receiver picking-up microwatts of power. I'm sure you can do better with the receiver close to the transmitter but I'd still expect it to be limited to very low-power/low-energy applications.

RFID tags do get power from the transceiver but they don't have batteries to store energy.
