Anyone using fastled with esp32

I have a simple sketch that works fine with an esp8266 but will not work when compiled and run on esp32. Does anyone have this working? If so what version of library and what IO pin did you use?
Also if I can’t get fastled working is there an alternate library that will allow me to control ws2811 string?

My Neopixel 32-LED array works fine with 3.3V Supply, DPin-13 of 30-pin ESP32 Dev Board. This is the sketch taken from IDE Examples:

Isn't pin2 the ESP32 on-board LED, too?

Your sketch runs well in my 30-pin ESP32 Dev Board on DPin-2. The target LED is turned On called by LEDon(n).

Thanks so much for taking the time to try my sketch. I’ll try that pin tomorrow when I get back home. Can you tell me what version of fastled you are using. And what esp32 device you choose to compile against?

so I have the 13 ws2811 led string wired to 3.3v and ground and either driven by an esp8266 (works) or esp32 (doesn't work)... I'm reading that I need 5V. How you you have it wired for YOUR esp32 ?
Is there any electrical difference between the voltage outputs of an esp8266 and a esp32 ?

I think my LEDs are W2812. Simple connection :
30-pin ESP32 LED
3.3V VCC
GND GND
13 DIN

are you direct connected to the LED data line or did you put a resistor in series?

well, i tried adding the resistor and trying different IO pins and NO luck.
I tried the Adafruit NeoPixel library and it worked instantly on both D4 and D16.
So somehow FastLED is messed up for esp32 ..at least for my installation...
Neopixel should suffice for what I want to do...thanks to all who provided feedback.
The interesting thing is that it seems to work reliably on 3.3v.
