Hi!
I want to use my Arduino UNO to monitor my aquarium status.
The may objective is to:

  • Every 5 minutes the arduino reads the inputs from an temperature sensor, an water level sensor, an light sensor, and an water spill sensor.
  • Then after each read it writes to an HTML the results and save the HTML in an SD card
  • Then via ethernet i can remotely connect to the arduino SD card and read the data.

For this i already have an Arduino UNO, and ethernet shield with SD reader and all the shields for the sensors.

What do you think? is it easy? do I need any extra shield? or am I complicating a lot?

google "arduino [Ethernet] shield or similar topics . You need the interface to the internet or pc to do that. I don't think you can write an HTML file to an SD card. You need to the Ethernet shield to write it to a PC or the web.

This is such an incredible Project, it's almost required reading for anyone developing an aquarium/terrarium controller with advanced logging and visualization capabilities.

Of course you can write an HTML file to an SD card! A file is a file. He already said he has an Eethernet shield to actually send it.

Depends on what you mean.
Yes, he can save an HTML file on an SD card, if he has a shield with an SD socket and circuitry.
However, he will need some way to get the data in the file to a PC or a web site in order to display it on a browser. That could be done via Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, or even just a serial connection to a PC, assuming the PC has a program running that will accept the file, to pass on to a browser or send to a web site.
