Arduino 1.18.13 not working on Linux with Chromebook

I have installed arduino 1.18.13 through the linux instructions on my chromebook but whenever I try to run it it gives me this error:
line 35: /home/redflamesx3/arduino-1.8.13-linux64/arduino-1.8.13/java/bin/java: Permission
denied
Can someone please help me
