Arduino 2.0 Issue

I am having 2 different issues.

  1. at start it perpetually says: Downloading index signature: library_index.json.sig with the %bar at 80%.....

  2. Compiling takes an eternity......

I reistalled all, removing all directories and adding again from zero Libraries and Boards.

Using ESP32-C3 v2.0.5 compiler.

Can not "play" anymore essentially, losing interests in the platform since lost too much time.

Is there any powerful hint that let me solve this issue ?

Take care U all community.

Yes, Arduino 2.0 is a freshly released version of the IDE it seems still to have some teething issues and many of these are being tracked, but in the mean time:-
Go back to using 1.8.19

Thank you.

So, personally I would not let customer download a BETA software that makes them mad .....

The Arduino IDE 1.8.19 should be the MAIN release, NOT THE LEGACY one.

Am I wrong ?

Thank you.
Xo.

Your topic was MOVED to its current forum category which is more appropriate than the original

The question is more deep instead.

Since with every version of IDE and of board packs the compilation takes really long time.

It's not related to AV.

This issue is present on ARDUINO and external suite that use ARDUINO as base.

I feel more related to JAVAW.

Any suggestion ?

thank you.

XO

Hi @xotho. I'm sorry the Arduino IDE is not working well for you.

It is not beta.

Many thousands of people are now using Arduino IDE 2.x. We have had a few reports of this type of problem, but only a few, and some of those have already been resolved by the configuration of the antivirus (I know you say that is not the problem for you, but it was for others).

If a significant percentage of users were experiencing the problem you are, this forum and our bug tracker would be absolutely swamped with reports, yet they are not. I realize that a problem that only affects 0.01% of users is still just as much a problem personally when you are one of the 0.01%, but please don't make the assumption that all users are experiencing the same.

How did you determine this? Did you try disabling the antivirus software completely just long enough to run a quick test?

If the problem also occurs when using Arduino IDE 2.x, then it is definitely not. The reason is that, unlike Arduino IDE 1.x, Arduino IDE 2.x does not use Java in any way. It is a complete rewrite of the application done in the TypeScript language.

Well, I have deep checked, and I agree with you !

It's AV related Issue !

Even if you disable it....it avoid proper working...

So now please, can you remove completely this post ?

Once I have right settings I will open a new post with suggestion abotu setting of AV.

take care,
XO!

Why delete this topic and start a new one when you could change its title and add to it ?

Solution:

Avoid using SEP 14.3.8259.5000 , while previous version 14.3.7393.4000 work perfectly.

take care u all,
xo

Or update to the FRESH SEP 14.3.8268.5000,

V 14.3.8259.5000 is terribly buggy.

Xo

Thanks for sharing your findings @xotho

Is this referring to a version of your antivirus software?

Yes, it's so.

Take care,
XO
