I.ve tried to load the new 2.0 version but it just shows the startup and hangs. I've tried to disable the virus software(AVG) but it still won't start.
Hi @petemine. Thanks for your report.
I would like to provide you with instructions to gather the necessary information for troubleshooting this problem, but first I need to know which operating system you are using on your computer (e.g., Windows) so that I can give you the right instructions.

I don't get the Arduino app to start. I tried to download it as all users and as just me but when I try to start the Arduino app it shows the start logo but freezes there.
@petemine. Please, let's try to focus this discussion better.
You started out by reporting that Arduino IDE 2.x would not start:
When I tried to help with the investigation you said you had given up on Arduino IDE 2.x and switched the conversation to a completely different subject of a problem you had with Arduino IDE 1.8.19:
When I tried to help with the investigation of that, now you switched the subject back to the problem of the IDE not starting:
It is starting to feel like this conversation is only a waste of both our time. I would like to help, but we aren't making any progress.
I'm sorry for the confusion. There are two separate problems I posted. One was thyat I could no longer get Arduino 2.0 to start. The other problem was loading my originally working program into web cam module with Arduino 1.8.19.
@petemine. I split the posts about the error while compiling for the ESP32 board into a separate topic here:
This "Arduino 2.0 not starting" topic can be dedicated exclusively to any further discussion of the problem with starting the Arduino IDE 2.x.
