Arduino + 4051 multiplex + MIDI Out

Hello, thanks for your questions...

What program do you use to make it show up as a midi controll in the >software synth? I'm hoping midiox will work for me, it free+donation.
Is max/msp the thing if i'd want to become a midi to softwaresynth master?

I use Ubuntu with Qsynth and a MPU401 interface for MIDI IN port. The notes are generates with sounfonts. In the video de quality of sound is poor due the laptop speakers...

And also. I'm really really a beginner in programming. Would it be possible >to see the code for this. Eventhough there are instructions on in the >playground about how to use the 4051, i don't understand how to make >each leg of the multiplexer respond to a specific midi note.

I've tried to implement using interruptions... but at the end I used the same solution I found here:

In my case the code isn't the same but this sample is very clear to study. And you have the schema for two 4051...

Also nice to see that it's polyfonic Smiley and you played it well!!!

The advantage of using MIDI is that de polyphony depends of the sound generator not of the Arduino. You only must send the NOTE ON messages of each notes and after some time the NOTE OFF messages. That generates an chord.

Related to the playing I can asure you that is dificul due to the low quality of buttons. The song is a folk them of my region in Spain.
