Arduino ADK as a Linux Quad USB-4Serial Adapter

Dear Arduino Folks;

Has anyone wondered if its possible to deploy the Arduino ADK on Linux (consider UBUNTU) and implement Quad USB-Serial adapter (1USB <=> 4 UARTS)?

If this is feasible, and in order to avoid the implementation of a linux device driver, could I just write multiplexing firmware for the Arduino side and thus take advantage that Linux already detects the ADK board as USB-Serial device?
