Arduino Alphanumeric keyboard questions.

Hi all,

I'm currently working on a project where I need to build a 'split' keyboard.

More specifically, 2 small keypads, one for right hand, one for left hand.

Left hand will be the letters a-z, right hand will be numbers 0-9, the '-' symbol, a backspace key and an enter key (backspace and enter keys can go on the left if need be).

Now the problem I'm having is finding some kind of guide online on how to achieve this, all of the things I've found so far are for converting a wired keyboard to wireless/bluetooth or for music keyboards.

I have found some places that reference the keyboard.h library, but not on it's usage etc.

Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction on where to start looking/researching?

Thanks

Example code includes transfer of pressed keys to some logging device. Find out where the code sits, that transfers a pressed key, and replace that output code by your own.

It may be simpler to interface the Arduino to a dedicated keyboard controller chip. Try to find one with an Arduino library.
