Arduino alvik fails to initialize and no power without USB-C

My Alvik worked just fine until I proceeded to update it using the official site (https://alvikupdate.arduino.cc/).
Previous setup: MicroPython 1.22 and mpy 0.4.0.
I updated MicroPython to 1.25 using the official tool, but nothing changed. Alvik fails to initialize — in the REPL, the happy faces stop moving after a few seconds, and the program gets stuck at that point.
Additionally, Alvik can't be powered without being constantly connected via USB-C. The battery is not the issue, as it was working and charging correctly before the update.
Any suggestions?
