Arduino and XPort

Hello, I have a question, the adafruit ethernet shield for xport make it possible to wire the xport to virtualy any pin of the arduino.

Generally, we use some digital pin, but is it possible to wire the xport to the serials pin (0 for RX, and 1 for TX) of the arduino ? this will make it possible to use the serial api, and make it more efficient.

I am asking this because my project, use nearly every other digital pin, and I can't wire the xport on a Diecimila.

Thanks.

I would have thought that Pin 0 and 1 were the ideal way to wire up an Xport to an Arduino.
