Arduino appimage asks for keyring access?

Hi there, after using the 1.8.16 version for a while, I upgraded to the appimage version 204 for linux (ubuntu 22.04) and it is asking for keyring access every time i start up the app or open another project. is this normal behavior and can i tur this off somewhere?

why is it asking for keyring access? there is no need for that imho.

thanks for the links.

as i lost my keyring password long ago (using bitwarden for login stuff) is there a way to get rid of this question without deleting the keyring?
again: why is it needing the keyring?

How do you start the browsers, mine system always asks for the key ring first before opening it. Once the key ring is open it stays open. It is important when you set a password you remember it or record it in a known place. More and more software is being designed that if you do not have the password you trash the software for security reasons. Updating the OS will not get rid of it.

well, as i said, all my passwords and secrets are in bitwarden, a plugin for most browsers and phones that saves your secrets on a separate server and syncs with that, so a rarely use the keyring. maybe i should just reset it, but i'm affraid some hidden things still in use are in there as well.

As i am on linux, there are not that many apps asking for keyring access. actually, I completely forgot that it existed before I used arduino ide 2.0, hence the password i set is at least 10 years old.

anyway, arduino 2 works just fine when i click cancel, so it acutually does not need access to work.

Key Ring as far as I know is part of the security of Linux. It took me a while to figure out what it does. Now when it launches I just enter the password and forget it until I log in again as it remembers. That prevents my associates from going on my machine to see what I have been searching for.
