Arduino based Energizer Bunny

Hello,

I'm looking to make my stuffed energizer bunny toy into a motorized toy. Meaning two motors for both hands activated from two buttons.
Everytime you hit the button the corresponding arm with hit the drum attached to the bunny and go back to it's starting position.
I have a few questions and I hope you guys can clear a few things for me:

  1. Which motor type should I use? Right now it seems I should go with a stepper motor.
  2. Will the motor react fast enough to acually mimic drumming? Lets say I want to trigger a sound from my computer everytime the bunny is hitting the drum will the motors be able to react fast enough and with minimum amount of latency to achieve close to real time drumming?
  3. Which board should I go with? I would prefer to go with the Nano since it's tiny but it doesn't have a DC power jack and I'm assuming I will need one for the motors??

Here's a pic of the bunny: http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/mp/ei17CKiZusfm.jpg
Any help will be much appreciated

Thank you

A servo would probably be easier.

Probably not. Inertia, for one thing, will be a problem.

Maple, ash, or pine. Oak is a good choice, too. Clarification might get you somewhere.

It's not on fire. What a shame. Dumbest advertising gimmick of all time.
