My young daughters and I make Arduino-based robots for fun. Here is our latest project, an Arduino-based mechatronic tank we call "Mechatron". Be sure to watch the video and visit the page (Mechatronic Tank | Beatty Robotics ) on our website www.beatty-robotics.com that explains the details of our robot.

I wish my dad did stuff like this with me...

Something tells me that entire machine was custom designed and built, down to the wheels.
Ok - you could probably buy the rollers on the wheels - but I bet nearly everything else on it (maybe not the gears...) was custom made.
I wish I had the shop and the metal work knowledge for stuff like this...ah well.

I've seen mechanum wheels on the blagoblags, but they aren't cheap.
Here's an example:

Oh hey, look what I found: here
Look familiar?

Thanks, Una Clocker. I've provided a list of the equipment used to make Mechatron at the bottom of the page here:
If you haven't already, be sure to watch the video on this page.

Heh - nice find! I was sure they were a custom machined job...
Freak me!
That looks like it means business!
"You don't understand! That's ALL it does, it can't be bought, can't be reasoned with, you can't stop it!"

This is so cool!!! I am building something similar with mecanum wheels. Could you please share the code for synchronizing speed using encoder?
Thanks,
