Arduino Coding and Operation with Mighty Zap 30mm Actuator

Hello,

I need some assistance in creating code that will operate a specific actuator required for a project, a Mighty Zap 30mm Stroke 12V Mini Linear Actuator Servo.

Currently I have a Arduino Mega, and plan on powering these actuators using an external power source. The only question I have regarding these actuators is how I should code and operate them? According to the datasheet found on the website and from my understanding, there is only one pin that controls the entire actuator and is used as a feedback wire to tell the Arduino how far it is extended. I am also not 100% confident if this is how it operates. On the attached link it states that it can be operated using a sensor shield, but I am not sure how since it requires 7/12V to operate and the sensor shield uses 6V.

I am not very confident in my mechatronics knowledge (hence why I am asking for help), so if I am incorrect about any of these previous statements, please correct me. Any clarity as to how this actuator operates or some assistance in operating this actuator with only using wires and my Arduino would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Slinky13,
I've seen that you want to control a MigthyZap Actuator with an Arduino, or you wanted. That's exactly what I want. For the purpose of building a bionic hand in the low price segment. Now no one has written to you here in the forum. This is probably because no one wanted to do the work to see how such a MigthyZap is built. Did you find out about the Arduino?

For my purposes, the MigthyZap with 40N and 28mm per second would be attractive. That would be 4Kg per finger than force. That would be enough.
