Arduino compiler won't, avr-gcc returns error=2

Hi forum,
I'm a nube to arduino but to progamming. How can I look under the 'hood' to see what is being passed to the compiler ? The error also says, "Can't create process"
ENV: WinXP,SP 3

Hey Folks,
All Fixed, my Arduino install was messed up by WinRAR!
When I checked the Arduino-0018 zip file I realised that WinRAR was refusing to extract *.exe files. So, using the old faithful Winzip, I simply extracted it all again. http://www.arduino.cc/yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/yabb21/rolleyes.gif
