Hi guys. I need to control the swing of a baby cradle by the use of electromagnets. I am new to this field. Any idea how i can implement that?
The problem is that i cannot find a circuit for the connection of the electromagnet with the arduino.
First, find some electromagnets and their spec sheet. Then select and Arduino (I suggest the UNO for a first timer) . Then we can help with the circuit to get from the Arduino to the electromagnet.
In the mean time, review the blink without delay example here on the forum (likely you will need it to control the time on and time off for the electromagnet pulses).
thank you!! I would like to attract a permanent magnet with the electromagnets. I think i should first work on the blink without delay
Makes sense, but what are you using for electromagnets? What are the specs? How much current do they require? I'm fairly certain the Arduino output pin will not have the ability to drive them directly, so you will need something in between the Arduino and the electromagnet.
Hi RoboticGUY!
Your idea is fun but….. What about laying on Your back doing the rocking by Yourself? I did that and now it's a very nice memory. Later in life the child messed up life and dad couldn't clean up the mess. Dads fault….. and no communication today….
Robots will never raise harmonic children. It takes heart and engagement from dads and moms to do that.
Think about what You are doing.
Why not create a swing machine for the adult things out in the garden?
Thank you @adwsystems for your advice. I will look into this. I will come back if i need any help in the future. Yeah i will need a driver circuit, something like that. Electromagnets are same as motors.
