arduino create agent not working

Hi, whenever I try to open arduino create agent, It says that there is no plugin connection.
The plugin is black, and I have allowed it to access incoming network connections. Does anyone lnow how to fix this?

If it not green then its is quite possibly installed incorrectly.

Did you say YES to 2 possibly 3 pop ups ? If not that would be your issue.

Also please read the top few posts in this section as there is some useful info available for you there.

Can create agent plug-in be installed on Raspberry Pi 3?

@TangoIrvine51

It can be installed under LINUX but I dont think there is a specific routine for the Pi.

You may have to read a few posts about the Linux install and adapt from there.

Also it has browser specific requirements that need to be adhered to !

No Plugin Connection. Uploading is disabled until you reconnect.

Have reinstalled plugin five times but always get the same result, tried unpluging Arduino uno and pluging it back in again to the usb port three times.

Has anyone else had repeated failures, it did work once for a short period.

@kennip

Yes people have had repeated failures but once they add more detail to a problem quite often it gets resolved.

There are some posts at the top of this section of the forum.
May I suggest you take time to read them and see if anything in there helps.
Failing that maybe add a lot more information as also mentioned in one of those posts.

Yours is currently a "me too" issue.

I'm having the same problem as @inventordavis and have re-installed several times. I have also given the program all the permissions I can think of. I'm trying to connect on arduino uno through firefox. I am on a Mac. It used to work before the update.

Thank you!

I don't usually use a Mac but I need to test this for students who do. I know I had the Create Agent working just a couple weeks ago. Today it doesn't. I've re-installed several times and nothing. When I click on the black Arduino icon in the LaunchPad nothing seems to happen. I am using MacOS High Sierra and Chrome. I also tried downloading the Firefox version from Github and got no better result.
I did briefly see an Arduino icon appear at the top of my screen by the power icon but it quickly vanished.
I have restarted and nothing works.
Did something change recently?

@cgorton1313

we share the same nightmare. Any luck yet?

I'm on a mac and I also can't get it to work. I've installed the desktop IDE, but it too is not connecting to my Arduino Uno.

It used to work fine for the last year or two. Not sure what has happened?

Same issue here.

MBP 2015 running Sierra 10.12.6

Invoke the plugin app - it appears to open, but the web editor cannot connect.
attempts to locate the process are fruitless - basically it appears to have crashed upon opening.

Chrome browser Version 67.0.3396.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Multiple installation attempts - nothing working here.

We are working on a fix right now. If you can start it in debug mode and send us the output would be really helpful

We love Saturday's fixes so we just released a new working version. Please download the agent again and it will work.
Sorry for the issue, will never happen again.

Hey, mistakes happen. When they're corrected in a timely manner (on a Saturday even) all is forgiven. I reinstalled and we're working. Thank you very much for the response and for the excellent product.

Cheers
