Arduino DFU not working

I can't get Arduino DFU to work. When I plug in the USB-Serial RESET pin to GND and release, nothing happens. Is my firmware damaged?

What is "Arduino DFU" ? Please provide the link.

What is DFU (Device Firmware Update or something else) Acronyms have various meanings to different people? It is always best to sort it out the first time it is used. What board are talking about. Messing around with the programming mode can damage your firmware. what is the USB-Serial RESET pin? Posting a simple schematic would help.

It's Device Firmware Update. I am on macOS version 12 and I'm using Arduino Uno R3. The USB-to-Serial firmware looks damaged, so I followed this tutorial: https://support.arduino.cc/hc/en-us/articles/4408887452434-Flash-USB-to-serial-firmware-in-DFU-mode

Thanks for the update and link, you just helped a lot of people including me. Have fun with it!

I followed the tutorial and it just won't enter DFU mode (look at the pic).

At this point I do not have any idea of what to do. I am not a Mac person and I do not have the hardware to try and figure it out. Hopefully somebody else can help you. The only thing I notice is it appears to be dependent of a given version of the IDE. Sorry I wish I could get you through this.
