i have a ch340 clone arduino and i was messing around with it and i was uploading different sketches but i didnt want to keep opening new sketches so i had 2 instances open. by accident i uploaded from 2 instances at once and the arduino suddenly stopped receiving code and now givest this error:
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0xbf
did i kill it can i fix it
İt passes the loop back test
Unplug the Arduino, do a FULL restart of the computer, plug in the Arduino and try again.
I tried
Different computers
Different cables
Different ide versions
Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver
On light and L light turns on no blinking
OK, it's broken then.
I wonder if this a consistent way to brick an arduino
Which version of the IDE were you using ? Exactly how did you start the second instance of the IDE
I started the second one by clicking new sketch
Version 2.0.3
I just tried this using a Nano clone with a CH340 chip and IDE 2.0.3 All that happened was that one of the sketches (they were not the same) failed to upload
The Nano seems to have suffered no harm and I can load sketches to it with no problem
No, I have never heard of this happening. But you don't have an Arduino, you have a compatable from a third party!
That's interesting so something else went wrong but the problem is i wasn't doing anything else maybe a random ESD from the table killed it or something i guess
