Arduino Download Confusion

I am new this sort of coding. I just downloaded the Arduino software, and I am not sure what exactly it is supposed to do. I just unboxed my Maslow CNC machine and was following the steps provided me. I got to the step where it sent me to the Arduino web site, and now I am not exactly sure what is next. I thought I was supposed to be downloaded some firmware or something else. I downloaded some software that was very difficult to get installed for some reason my computer didn't like.

Maybe read these two links to start with and any instructions you were following.
Once we have those I may move you to the motors and CNC etc. section.

Could you take a few moments to Learn How To Use The Forum.
It will help you get the best out of the forum in the future.
