Arduino DUE Programming and External Power

Hi there,

I havent found a clear answered regarding this specific combination: Am I able to program the Arduino DUE via either usb while powering it with 5V externally (as some components like a touch screen are connected and I know the USB power couldnt handle so much current).

Thank you in advance.

What prevents you from trying ?

I just don't want to fry the board if the external power isn't supposed to be connected while the usb is connected. I read that power supplies could fight each other?

There is no issue with an external power supply and the programming port. Only issue you could have is when you use the DUE as a USB Host to connect e.g. a USB Mouse or Keyboard.
