Arduino Duemilanove set up

Hi all,
I have a problem installing my Arduino Duemilanove board (ADB) . I used the ADB on windows XP and everything perfect. But now I want to use it with windows 7 and I can’t used. I run the basic file that is in File<Examples<Digital<Blink but it says:
Problem uploading to board.
avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

So far I have done this:

  • I set up the board (Tools<Board<Arduino Duemilanove)
  • Tools<Serial Port<COM4
  • Update the driver (the one that says COM4 in Device Manager)

I used the board before in Windows XP and it worked. I download the version 18 of arduino in windows 7.

I don’t know what else to do, if someone know please let me know. Thanks

I'm using the same board with Windows 7 64bit. The windows has recognized the driver when i conected it. I didnt used any other drivers. It works perfect. Try to use the integrated driver inside the windows. Uninstall the device and install the default one.

Hi! I also have Windows 7 + Duemilanove. I manually installed the driver. Download it here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM%202.06.00%20WHQL%20Certified.zip (this is a little older version, the newest driver doesn,t work for me!)

thanks anio and thanks D3C3PT1C0N. I tried both ways but still have the same message.

Any other suggestions?
