Jantje has released a new version of the Arduino Eclipse Plugin that works with the Arduino 1.5.2 beta IDE and supports the Arduino Due, as well as the Teensy, Teensy++ and Arm Cortex M4 32bit based Teensy3 microcontroller boards.
I have written some Installation instructions for Mac OSX, but other than file/folder locations and perhaps OS specific differences in the Eclipse UI there are no Mac specific things in these instructions so they should work for Linux and Windows users as well. Look here in the "Teensy, Arduino etc." section :
On this subject, does anyone know how to create a static library using the new version of the software. In the old 1.x version you could create a new static library as a project, but in the new version you can only create a Arduino sketch. I suppose that's great for some, but the point of using eclipse instead of the IDE is to have better control over the build process. If all I wanted was a sketch I'd stick with the IDE.
If the 2.x version doesn't support a stand alone static library is there any way to make one manually?
I've installed your plugin a on my win xp system
Version: Juno Service Release 2
Build id: 20130225-0426
After adding the ws settings I tried to build a new scetch. I can say create new arduino sketch then ok and the next screen is empty. Only the title appears: New arduino sketch
Create a new arduino sketch.
Jantje - yes, I saw that reply. However, it didn't immediately make sense to me. Under the Eclipse AVR I could create a static library that was linked with my executable. In your version all the source code is compiled into a single executable. Even though some of the code might be reused in the form of a "library", it is a compile-time action, not a link-time action. Not really what I'm used to, or what I was looking for, but it serves the purpose of decoupling "libraries" from "applications".
As an aside, upload to Leonardo is not working properly for me. The plugin resets the board but never re-aquires the com port. If I manually reset the board after the first error message the upload completes properly. If you point me to the source code for the new plugin I'll be happy to look into a solution (unless you already have one).
I know this is an old thread but had to respond that this plug in ROCKS. I am a new user with Eclipse and have the Android version for XP. I was able to install this mid stream of an Arduino project. I started when I got home in the evening when I read about the Arduino Eclipse plugin. Installed it following the instructions from Jantje's FAQ and was running and seeing where all my typos were in my sketches from the previous 2 weeks worth of work. The only thing that would have made that evening better would have been getting with my gal. What a fantastic tool and I don't use the Arduino IDE anymore. thanks Jantje.
