Arduino eth w/ POE too hot

I bought two eth Arduino with POE
when I use the POE eth, both boards feels very hot.I use a voltage 48V POE 500mA.
so if i use the adapter on the board. board gets hot too but not as hot as when using POE. I use a 12V adapter with 1A
Whether it is normal to happen?

Measure the amount of heat.

Electronics can stand more heat than your skin.

The wiznet w5100 chips normally run hot.

52 and 62 celcius degrees, normal?
