I have a odd strange Question in programming if possible. I would like to send data from one arduino with Ethernet shield to another Ethernet Shield without having to put a router in the middle of it Is that Possible?
You can might save money and go serial. No need for ethernet component.

Hello Yeah from looking at it about 30 to 50 ft is the max maybe.
You're not going to get any better signal with Ethernet unless you go through a router.

That actually might do the trick and up to 4000ft wow that will work thank you. and funny thing is i know that chip i have have a couple of them some place. i didn't think they can do rs485 talk i will look into it thank you.
