ARDUINO EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY 5V 1.5A

Hi,

i have a question, i will be using an external power supply for my arduino, can i used 5V and a current rating of 1.5A? without damaging the arduino? What is the maximum current that the arduino can take?

Thank you!

This is all covered in the Arduino product guide.

Assuming the supply is properly regulated you could use it by applying the 5v to the VIN pin. The maximum current on each i/o pin is 40ma. Within that, the maximum current is whatever it demands, irrespective of whatever is on offer to it.
