Hey guys,
I'm a complete beginner to the world of Arduino. I have a puzzle that I have designed which involves pressing buttons in a sequence to unlock a electro magnet etc. I've been sent the Arduino code, but when it comes to buying a component, installation etc I am completely lost.
Can anyone be kind and talk me through it?

I think you may be better off showing the code as a start.

Then if you have a schematic even if it is hand drawn you should also attach that too.
Between those it should be feasible to work out what you need as your description is a little sparse right now.
