Arduino gets no power when putting motor shield on

I bought Arduino Uno R3 starter kit and have been makin those model projects. All works fine.

Now i bought Arduino motor shield and when I put the shield on Uno, it won't power up when plugging either the usb or 9v battery. Not a single led will blink or flash. I did upload the BareMinumum program to the board so there shouldn't be any I/O confilcts.

If I detach motor shield from Uno and plug the Uno back to usb all works fine.

Motor shield is authentic Arduino, straight from the package. What could cause motor shield preventing the power-up?

Some motor shields may need jumpers or traces soldered.
This is also true for the Rev 3 Arduino motor shield and is mentioned in the documentation available HERE

Some motor shields may also use pins 0 and 1 and those shields should only be plugged into the board AFTER the sketch is loaded unless they have jumpers or switches to bypass them.

I had the same problem, its the soldering make sure the soldering not he shield is good
