I was wondering, since i have been looking for a way to control my arduino from long distances (robot), i have already done the whole xbee thing and wanted even more distance. So my question is: if i have to arduinos both hooked up with a gsm shield and chips if i could use one to send the other inputs, eg, one hooked up with a button that when clicked turns a led on the other arduino.
If possible please tell me and maybe suggest a way of doing so.
Also if possible will the communication be very slow?
I am designing a general purpose SMS remote control Android app at the moment based on pfod (www.pfod.com.au)
My current testing shows about 20sec or less to send and receive an SMS message but would expect it could be much longer.
I am working on a design that has reliable messaging and which minimizes the number of messages sent. Currently it looks like you will need at least two (2) SMS messages in each direction to connect to a remote device and do a single action.
email me at www.pfod.com.au via support if you want to be notified when the updated app is released
