Arduino IDE 1.6.8 fails to load n Windows 10

Hi all,
New install of windows 10 32bit has meant that I can no longer open Arduino IDE 1.6.8. I get the spash screen and then the 'loading config text' then the splash disappears.

I've tried running the log file but I get nothing from that either. Any ideas greatly received as I'm now without an Arduino!

Thanks

I wouldn't install 1.6.8 until it gets fixed up. It has known issues - not with your case - but other operating issues. Try rolling down to 1.6.5 r5.

When it comes to newest/latest operating systems - certain things need to be accounted for in order to get software to run properly on new operating systems.

Also..... remember to disable certificates (or whatever that procedure is for latest microsoft operating systems) during installation of software.

Did you previously have a 1.5.x version installed? They don't clean up after themselves, you need to delete some files (forget exact location, buried in appdata somewhere, on phone so can't check) r

Thanks.

I'll try both of those suggestions.

Cheers.
