Arduino IDE 1.6.9, esp8266 esptool missing

Hi,

I am programming the esp12 f chip. When I compile and upload the firmware to the chip. Sometime the ssid and wifi password will stuck there. i.e. not removed.

I have to use esptool to completely wipe out the chip, so it becomes "fresh".

I am using Adruino ide 1.6.9, is it a way to integrate esptool to the ide. I have read that it was integrated it, but it is not working.

Did you add the following into your preferences file ?

http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json

Don't forget to put a comma before that and place it AFTER your Arduino packages.

Once you have done that restart the IDE then use the board manager to select any other updates.
Would also be a good time to update and add any esp specific libraries too. and do another restart of the IDE.

Yes, I include the json file. It is the only one I have in preference.

Looks ok.

Did you also add via board manager "tools?", "board", "Board manager". Type ESP in the search box.
You should have two choices.
You probably only need the ESP8266 Community one ver 2.2.0
